It will take place on 11 - 12 February 2015 at the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Centre LITEXPO, Vilnius, Lithuania. CONVENE is an interna- tional show case for the regional meetings industry which accelerates the interest in, and demand for, holding meetings, incen- tives and conferences in the region. CON- VENE 2015 features exclusive hosted buyer programme which will accommodate 160 pre qualified senior meeting buyers from the corporate, association, agency sectors. The exhibition will feature key providers of meetings products and services from 9 Baltic Sea region destinations. CONVENE is created by Vilnius Convention Bureau.In 2015, Danish exhibitors will join a grow- ing representation from Sweden, Finland, Poland, Russia, Latvia, Estonia and Lithu- ania and there will also be representation from Lviv in the Ukraine and from Belarus. Email indre@convene.lt for more infoEvents at the Sky GardenThe Sky Garden will be “rhubarb”s” latest venue to open at 20 Fenchurch Street, London in late 2014. The space will fea- ture two restaurants, a café/bar and four dedicated event spaces over three floors. Visitors arrive to a beautiful landscaped garden at level 35.There will be three dedicated events spaces available for hire at the Sky Garden on Levels 35, 36 and 37 as well as two restau- rants and a private dining room. The ca- pacities range from 16 to 250 guests with the option to hire the entire venue witha capacity for 450 guests. There will be a wide range of menus to choose from in- cluding classic and contemporary options along with a variety of dining formats from seated meals to buffet and canapé parties. A dedicated event planner will help tailor events to any exacting tastes and require- ments. Sales & Events: T: 020 8812 3200C O N V E N EEIBTM new initiativeThe EIBTM Team has launched “MY AS- SOCIATION/MY CLUB,”to give a more flexible option to an Association Planner’s business and networking agenda at this year’s event which took place in Barcelona from 18-20 November. The programme has been designed in consultation with Association Planners through research and a dedicated Focus Group meeting.Priority has been given to “flexibility” a key request that came out of the research. Each Association Planner can now control their own itinerary, through choosing what they do, allowing time to explore the show, choose their own meetings and appoint- ments and add to them as they wish in their own Association Hub - a dedicated Club Lounge on the show floor. With dedicated networking, and their own host hotel, the Association Club also means that the attendees got to be together through- out their attendance at EIBTM 2014.Whilst the Association Planners continued to have their own dedicated education sector sessions, they will also had the flexibility to attend any of the EIBTM Knowledge Pro- gramme, defining which best suit their own business - another request that was made from those who participated in the research. And...EIBTM had over 15,500 (8% increase on 2013) industry professionals onsite for the show. With over 80% of attendees (excluding exhibitors) coming from Eu- rope, the trend underlines the American Express Meetings & Events 2015 Global Forecast presented at the event. Featuring modern design and the latest wireless technology, the hotel’s nine flexible and interchangeable rooms can host a total of 235 delegates over two floors, or up to 100 delegates in the largest meeting space.In addition, a Meeting Services App called Red Coat Direct gives event planners imme- diate communication with the hotel team, prompting an instant response without the organiser having to leave the meeting room.Page 10
