Hospitality newsa SnoozeboxCorporate Hospitality newsLOUVRE HOTELS TO BE SOLD TO CHINESELouvre, which claims to be Europe’s number two budget operator, owns 1,200 hotels, including over 800 hotels in France under brands such as Campanile and Golden Tulip and currently owned by Star- wood Capital, is being bought by Jin Jiang a leading Chinese hospitality group. The deal is due to be completed early in 2015 at an estimated worth at least $1.5 billion. The two companies have had a commercial partnership since 2011 with co - branding in France and China.ACCOR AND ORBISAs part of the process to reorganise its Central and Eastern European operations, Accor has submitted an offer to Orbis, a public company listed in Warsaw. Orbis is 52.7% held by Accor and the offer reinforces their existing partnership to make the Polish company its management platform for Central and Eastern Europe. Under the terms of the offer, which was approved by Accor’s Board of Directors, Orbis would take over all of the Group’s op- erations in the region, including in Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria and Macedonia. In addition, Orbis would have the capacity to develop all of Accor’s hotel brands in theregion by exploiting a master license for all of the Group’s brands.Accor is inviting Orbis to acquire its operat- ing subsidiaries in these countries. They include 38 existing hotels and 8 hotels cur- rently in the pipeline. Of the 46 hotels in the portfolio, 11 are owned, 17 are leased, 11 are managed and 7 are franchised.The amount of the considered transaction is €142 million.The offer provides for an exclusivity of negotiations until the end of November 2014. The hostel is a partnership between Eden, the Youth Hostel Association and Snoozebox - provider of port- able hotel accommodation and services.The 58-room hostel can accommodate more than 220 guests and is a direct replacement for the YHA’s Youth Hostel at Golant, near Fowey, which closed earlier this year.The new hostel, on the former site of Eden’s Strawberry car park, offers views over St. Austell Bay and is a short walk or bus ride to Eden’s main entrance. The comfortable rooms are all en suite and equipped with all the usual YHA conveniences. Prices start at £39 per night for a private room or £12 per night for a bed..
